Very comfortable deeply padded seat. The booties shown on the saddle in the first pic are included. They have almost no wear on them.

You can mount to your current saddle and it will work better than the knock off Ortho-Flex saddles wanting to charge you $2-3K for their saddles. This system works great. I switched to the ProTecTOR pad because I wanted a closer feel.
These panels are 24' inches in length. They are the 2-system late model Ortho-Flex system derlin panels with neoprene and have little wear. Up for sale is a beautiful Ortho Flex Special Edition Patriot saddle. The seat size is 16 inch. It has lovely border tooling and the extra sharp water buffalo seat.
The black trim running up the sides of the seat is some type of exotic. I believe it is alligator. But cannot swear to it. The plate on the back says the model number is PASE-160. I assume this is for Patriot Special Edition 16 inch. The serial number on the same plate is SO-9091. The stirrup straps are made of biothane and are in very good condition and the billet straps are also in excellent condition as is the stitching that holds them to the saddle.

Has added monkey grip. Nice saddle for gaited or large forward moving breeds and the flex panels allow the scapula to rotate farther back. Ask questions before bidding. Flex panels fit a wide variety of withers and backs. Only selling because I came off on very fast hard spook and want to go Australian for security now. Had herniated discs in my lower neck and can't afford another fall at speed off a 17h horse. Was used for 25 mile endurance.
Always used with a Toklat Woolback pad. Was on a high withered horse with dip in back. She was never sore and had no dry spots.

17.5 Endurance Cutback. Wide tree, Model# E-175, Serial# SO-1950. I bought this saddle, used, in 2011.
We used it on our draft cross gelding for trail riding. We liked not having a saddle horn poke us in the tummy when we ducked for branches. We also liked the big thigh rolls for bracing while on the down hill.
The padded, stitch down seat is really comfortable. This saddle is plain black with no tooling. It didn't come with booties, we just used a regular saddle pad. There are no gouges or scrapes on this saddle and all the stitching is intact.
It is in excellent used condition. It has 2' wide biothane stirrup leathers, and the stirrups are plastic, covered with leather. When I first bought this saddle, the billets weren't in very good shape. So, I sent the saddle to Hill View Farms and had the billets replaced. I also had them.
Perform a safety inspection to insure that the flex panels were working properly. This saddle will come to you clean and ready to use.
Since we used it on our draft cross, this saddle should work for Haflingers, Norwegian Fjords, Quarter Horses, Morgans, Arabians, any broad backed type of horse. It probably wouldn't be a good choice for slender build type horses. It is a great, really comfortable, used saddle. This Patriot is the model that Len Brown. The inventor of Ortho Flex saddles, recommends for gaited horses. Flexible panels allow the horse's shoulder to move more freely, thus it encourages full range of motion in the horses gait. The panels are designed with a clear channel down the length of the saddle, so there is never any contact or pressure on the horses' spine. The Patriot is lightweight at around 18 pounds- and it provides nice contact between rider and horse. The nice cushy padded'stitch down' seat makes it comfortable for the rider too. You can ride comfortably for hours in this saddle.
We've done many 25+ mile rides and we love these saddles. This saddle is from the original company and was made in Nevado MO. Orthoflex saddles. Are designed to fit most any horse. Model d-24647. Panels are short23 inches with wider gullet. This saddle shows wear of normal use. We had the panels checked out when we purchased the saddle and they are fully functional with equal flex on both sides and free movement. All hardware was tight and strong. It has not been used much since and should be in similar condition currently.
What I love about American flex is the cross center rigging which is. Adjustable to fine tune to the horses girthing needs. It also keeps the saddle seated very well.secure on horses back without much bounce like a lot of flex panel saddles I can work my horses with this saddle on without a rider in it.

I bought this saddle for its good looks a couple years ago when my interest in endurance riding was just budding. My horse immediately thanked me when he stopped dancing during the saddling process. I went on to log hundreds of miles without any sore backs on both a stocky quarter horse and a gaited KY Mountain horse. I am only selling because I have switched to a lighter English Ortho-Flex saddle on a smaller horse.
I'm a big fan of these saddles. They were always produced with top-notch materials and were very expensive saddles.
There are 2 panels under the saddle that swivel to match the horse's back angle. The concept has since been copied by several.
Saddle makers which is a testament to the great adjustable fit it offers for many horses. The panels are flexible however some back types(ie: sway back) might require additional shims in a saddle pad. I do not know what year this saddle was produced however it looks nearly identical to a saddle in Ortho-Flex's 1992 catalog. Here is their description: The Caliente has clean. Elegant lines formed by a slick fork and softly padded seat flowing into secure, comfortable upper thigh rolls. It's the western saddle with the closeness of an English saddle. The Caliente makes a perfect Spanish style riding saddle, and without a horn is excellent as a distance saddle with a weight of only 25 lb.
These Caliente saddles are pretty hard to come. This one definitely shows signs of use but is very solid and has many more good years still in it. I recently replaced the latigo and stirrup leathers and will include the comfortable padded trail stirrups that I added. It has its original silver plate, located under the flap(shown in pictures) I can not make out the engraving to see the complete serial number, but took close up pictures so maybe you can: I am not an expert on these saddles, but I will tell you everything I know about this saddle and its tack. The leather is really high quality.
It has hand tooling that is AMAZING. I have never seen tooling on a saddle like this. I tried to take close ups. Above the stirrup bar on both sides there is a signature of sorts, I am guessing it is whoever did the tooling(again, I took a close up pictures of it) I would love to know what the initials/signature stands for(if any of you know, please message me) It is brown in color, I oiled it before taking pictures, so it may lighten. Up a bit, but it needed the oil(I use Hydrophane leather conditioner, made in the UK, it is phenomenal stuff) I can only guess based on the appearance of the panels that they are system one or two, they appear to have four layers, from top to bottom: brown leather, white delrin, black foam(feels kinda like a thick yoga mat type of foam) and white felt closest to the horse. It has four screw holes, I can put my finger in the holes and feel the screw heads but they are way up there- not poking out at all.
I had no issues with this saddle on my horse, he moved well and did not seem uncomfortable. It is very secure for the rider with front knee rolls and back thigh blocks. Absolutely Beautiful black saddle. When I bought the saddle. About 3-4 years ago, I had the panels replaced and added real sheepskin lining.
I also had the company add a horn- it originally just had the endurance pommel- but I wanted the added security of a horn. The saddle is in fantastic condition with normal wear. The billets are in very good/excellent condition.
These are the really great billets that are all leather. Not the billets that are cheap with the synthetic backing that fray. Serial number EL245- this is the Express Lite model. Made by the original Orthoflex company. Rides like a 16' western- due to the stitch down padding. The stirrups are endurance leather wrapped.
The leathers are the biothane with the seat belt like buckle. I kept these covered with wool stirrup covers- so there are limited marks on the leather flap from rubbing. You will not be disappointed. New this saddle was about $4.000.

Rare Original Ortho-Flex Saddle in amazing condition! Saddles from the original OrthoFlex are getting harder to find and tend to be highly sought after. You won't find one in as good condition as this one! I bought this saddle several years ago barely used from a tack shop.
I paid $1750 for it. Then had my local saddle shop add all the beautiful Montana Silversmith Silver to it to dress it up for show. I've ONLY used it for showing so it doesn't have many more miles on it now than it did when I bought it. OrthoFlex saddles are made with a flex panel system enabling them to fit almost every horse. Great for gaited breeds too because the panels allow the horse to move his shoulder freely. I don't know which model it is.
It has a narrow twist, super tough boarhide seat with extra padding. Seat almost feels springy to sit in and is very comfortable. Boarhide is slightly more textured than traditional cowhide and has a lot less slip. Its also more durable. The pommel and horn.
Are low and swept forward so don't interfere as much with the reins as a lot of western saddles. The shape of the fenders on this saddle allow a lot more movement for the riders leg, and the stirrups are hung under you instead of out in front of you, allowing the rider to sit in a balanced seat position.
Drop-yoke rigging means no bulk from the cinch under your leg. The flex panels on the saddle are covered with leather on top and fleece underneath. The fleece is in excellent condition. This saddle is much more close contact than the newer OrthoFlex's, which is one of the reasons I bought it. I had a name plate on the cantle which I had removed before listing it for sale. The stirrups currently have a no-slip tread attached, which can easily be removed by the new owner if desired.

Hope you find the saddle you need. Well made Hermann Oak leather. Made by the man who made many of the original OrthoFlex saddles. Richard Watson has died and so there will be no more. I would not dream of selling this but I have two others a little bigger that fit my middle aged behind better. New, this saddle would sell for over $2000, and I have over $1400 into it. Watson saddles are built on a flex tree, using the most state of the art Delrin material to provide just enough flex to make saddle fitting much easier.
The weight is approximately 17' unrigged, and the panel length is 23' Price includes Easy Care endurance stirrups, lightly used, and barely used fenders- the old ones were pretty worn. I had brand new panels put on it last season, and so this saddle is tight and ready to go. 14.5' seat would be great for size 6-8 jeans, with 30-38 inseam. The tree is a medium, and while no tree will fit every horse, the flex tree makes this saddle a great fit for multiple horses. The stirrups are hung in a very.
Balanced position. So that the distance or trail rider can keep their legs underneath them where they belong, instead of the western'chair' seat which is so uncomfortable of distance riders. Plenty of rings for all your gear and saddle packs, these saddles are PROVEN to last, proven to provide comfort over many miles. Unlike some flex tree saddles, the Watson does not need'booties' but works great with a thinner to medium thin pad.

Western style endurance fits many horses without the'trapped' feeling of other Orthoflexes I have tried. Also includes a worn but functional set of brown booties that you could send off to have new ones made using the same pattern.

Wool on underside in great condition but in the one photo I have pulled it back so you can see the bolts in 4 places, 2 front and 2 rear. I would still recommend at least a thin pad under the panels.
I have had great luck with the Toklat Woolback oversize endurance pads. The panels along back are approx. I believe the panels were either replaced or re-worked. Fairly light weight saddle. The D rings, girth and crupper attachments are biothane and part of the fenders are also. Takes a 2' stirrup. Super secure saddle.
Can even add a hand loop(night latch) should you need to. SN#923, there is a.2 stamped under fended on panel and Western Performance is stamped on the fender itself. I do NOT take returns. The saddle with stirrups and girth strap weighs 28.2 lbs. The 17 inch measurement was made from the apex where a horn would be to the back of the seat as in picture. We purchased the saddle in 1997. It has received good care and upkeep. For it's age it is in good shape.

The biothane strap is adjustable and the comfortable neoprene goes under the tail(see photo) These are regular size.
The Orthoflex Neo crupper is showing slight wear to the center circle where the name is. Where the neoprene bends over the edge of the circle it is starting to show wear and light cracking. The rest is in great condition. The part that goes under the tail feels round. 2.The Softsides has the neoprene covered in nylon like what you see splint boots made with. The Soft touch has the flat biothane strap running through the neoprene sleeve under the tail. And does not feel round but flat. It is in really nice near new condition. These run around $70. Orthoflex English cutback wide tree“Jane Sprada” model with leathers and fleece bootie pads. Great for trail or endurance. This orthoflex saddle is on a wide tree so the saddle can accommodate the wider horse without perching on top or squeezing his shoulders.
Settles nicely around the thinner horse too with plenty of wither clearance due to the cutback. Three stirrup positions to choose from. The seat is very correct and Velcro on the sweat flap allows you to add knee rolls if desired. Saddle measure anywhere from a 17 to 18” depending how you hold it.
But I would say rides like a 17” Saddle is clean and all leather in good shape as pictured. Leathers and bootie pads included but no stirrups. The brown full sheepskin cover that is shown is not included.

No wear on the booties but they.are. dirty(pictured clean) Length of panels WITH the booties on. Are 26.5' long. This saddle is pictured on my short coupled(backed) Arab gelding. Exceptional saddle. I was skeptical about the fit for all my horses but it has fit every single horse I've ridden.
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and most other saddles cause.me to be in quite a bit of pain after riding a couple of hours. I can ride in this saddle 6+ hours and not be in ANY pain! The ONLY reason I'm selling is because we are moving and we need the money to make improvements to the new house. Buyer pays shipping.
